Rocky Mountain Tennis Center Closure

Dear RMTC Members,

I hope you are all doing ok and staying healthy and safe during this difficult time.

With the recent shut down of the city and county, it confirms the need to close the RMTC facilities. As far as the outdoor courts go, we can lock some gates at the club, but can't lock a 3' high fence on the east side of Court 2 and west side of Court 9. This means that people could play, even though they shouldn't. We could take down the nets and someone could just put caution tape up and hit/play. If a parent wants to hit balls with their son/daughter, is this ok? We cannot police the outdoor facilities.

We have discontinued taking reservations via TennisSource until further notice.

A reminder that the RMTC has placed all memberships on hold effective March 16. We will not be billing anyone going forward without prior notice.
We have had an outpouring of support from members offering to continue paying dues to support the business and staff. We can't tell you our appreciative we are of this gesture.

We are working on a plan that will help us get through the next few months and hope to share it with you in the next few days. This plan will hopefully enable us and our staff to hit the ground running when allowed to do so. Our next pay checks to our staff, under normal circumstances, would be April 3. We have our pro shop and facilities staff applying for unemployment insurance. Our coaches who are all independent contractors will have no income or unemployment benefits during the closure

We are currently pursuing an SBA loan. I'm not sure if we qualify and if we do, how soon we could get the funds.

We know that many of you are in the same situation and we hope that you have what you need to get through the foreseeable future. Let us know if there is anything we can do as a club to help.

During the closure, we will be checking email (preferred over voicemail). You can email me directly at Duke@rmtenniscenter.com or reach all of us (Duke, Kendall, Donna and Sylvia) at proshop@rmtenniscenter.com. I can also be reached at 303-828-8676.

Let's hope we can get back on the courts in the near future. We miss all of you.

Take Care,
Duke

Dear RMTC Members,

I hope you are all doing ok and staying healthy and safe during this difficult time.

We have had a number of members inquiring about placing their membership on hold or freeze status. When we made the decision to close the club, the RMTC placed all memberships on hold. I should have mentioned that. It is effective as of March 16. We will not be billing anyone going forward without prior notice.

We have also had a number of members state that we can continue billing monthly dues so that we can pay our staff. What a heartfelt and generous offer and it is much appreciated. We will continue to assess the situation and see what help might be out there over the next week or so before acting on this kind gesture.
Our entire staff will receive their normal paycheck tomorrow. This will give us a few days to work out a plan before the next paychecks are due on April 3. At the RMTC, our pro shop staff are all employees and all our coaches are independent contractors. As independent contractors, our coaches are not eligible for unemployment benefits.

We know that everyone is in the same situation and we hope that you all have what you need to get through the foreseeable future.

We'll continue to communicate the status of the club and staff. During the closure, we will be checking email. You can email me directly at Duke@rmtenniscenter.com or reach all of us at proshop@rmtenniscenter.com. I can also be reached at 303-828-8676.

Let's hope we can get back on the courts in the near future. We miss all of you.

Take Care,
Duke

Dear RMTC Members and Program Participants,

As you know, the Federal government has declared a state of emergency, and the State of Colorado and now the City of Boulder have done the same. The City of Boulder has declared a Local Emergency Declaration effective at 6 p.m. Sunday, 3/15.
.
In order to ensure the safety of our members, staff, and guests, the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center will close completely for business effective Sunday, 3/15, at 6 p.m. This means there will be no programming, permanent court time, or random reservations. The bubble, pool and pro shop will all be closed for 2 weeks unless otherwise notified. The outdoor courts will be playable, but restrooms at the pool and pro shop will not be available for use. The outdoor courts will not be serviced in any way; thus, no water will be available on the courts.

Given what is happening around the world, I’m sure everyone understands this decision. Please take care of yourself and your family members. We will update you as this situation evolves and let you know when court reservations resume and the club reopens.
During the closure, we will be checking email. You can email me directly at Duke@rmtenniscenter.com or reach all of us at proshop@rmtenniscenter.com. I can also be reached at 303-828-8676.

Sincerely,
Duke Paluch
General Manager
